Ocean Point Volleyball Club is proud to welcome Kurt Nusterer to its coaching staff. A national champion, elite middle blocker, and passionate teacher of the game, Kurt brings championship experience and a wealth of knowledge to Ocean Point athletes.
Standing 6’9″, Kurt was a standout middle blocker for the University of Hawaiʻi, helping lead the Rainbow Warriors to the 2026 NCAA National Championship. Throughout his collegiate career, he established himself as one of the premier middle blockers in the Big West Conference, earning AVCA Honorable Mention All-America, All-Big West Honorable Mention, and Big West Defensive Player of the Week honors.
As a senior, Kurt led Hawaiʻi with 106 total blocks, ranked second in the Big West and among the top 20 nationally in blocks per set, while hitting an impressive .472 attack percentage. His consistency, discipline, and efficiency at the net made him a cornerstone of one of the nation’s elite programs.
Before Hawaiʻi, Kurt starred at Columbus North High School (Indiana) and was recognized as one of the nation’s top recruits, earning VolleyballMag Fab 50 honors while helping Vanguard Volleyball Club to a Top-10 finish at the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships. At Ocean Point, Coach Kurt is committed to developing complete athletes by teaching elite blocking, efficient attacking, and the championship habits that translate to success on and off the court. We are excited to have him investing in the next generation of Ocean Point players.
