Ocean Point Volleyball Celebrates an Incredible First Season Together
As Ocean Point Volleyball Club reflects on an incredible first year, one person who deserves special recognition is Coach Zach Rama.
From the first practice to the final tournament of the season, Zach helped shape who we are as a club. He embraced our vision of Developing Champions. Playing with Joy. and poured himself into our athletes with enthusiasm, humility, and a genuine love for teaching the game. Whether he was leading a drill, encouraging a player after a tough match, or celebrating a hard-earned victory, Zach consistently made everyone around him better.
Our players had the unique opportunity to learn from one of the nation’s premier volleyball players. At UCLA, Zach helped lead the Bruins to back-to-back NCAA National Championships in 2023 and 2024, earning AVCA All-America and First Team All-MPSF honors along the way. He also represented the United States at both the youth and senior national team levels, training and competing alongside many of the world’s best players. While those accomplishments are remarkable, what impressed us most wasn’t simply Zach’s success on the court—it was the humility, work ethic, and servant leadership he demonstrated every day in our gym.
We are thrilled to congratulate Zach as he begins the next chapter of his volleyball journey. This fall, he will compete professionally with the Shinshu Matsumoto Tridents in Japan’s SV League, one of the premier professional volleyball leagues in the world. It’s a tremendous opportunity and one that he has earned through years of dedication, perseverance, and excellence.
Although Zach’s professional career will take him across the Pacific, we’re grateful that his relationship with Ocean Point is far from over. Zach will continue to serve as an Ocean Point Training Coach during the offseason, returning home to work with our athletes through clinics, specialty trainings, and other club events. We couldn’t be happier knowing our players will continue learning from someone who has already invested so much in our program.

Coach Zach played an important role in laying the foundation for Ocean Point Volleyball Club. His influence extends beyond volleyball skills—he helped build a culture of excellence, character, teamwork, and joy that will continue to define our club for years to come.
From all of us at Ocean Point—our players, families, coaches, and staff—thank you, Zach. Thank you for believing in our vision, investing in our athletes, and helping launch our club with such passion and integrity.
We are incredibly proud of you and can’t wait to follow your professional career in Japan. We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way and look forward to welcoming you back to the Ocean Point gym whenever you’re home.
Congratulations, Coach Zach, and thank you for being an important part of the Ocean Point family.
Developing Champions. Playing with Joy.
